“This has been the best carefree maintenance product for an above ground pool that we have experienced. It beats spending $500+ on chemicals all summer and continuously fighting algae, etc. We put the recommended amount of salt in to start and plugged in the Saltron. You will need to add a stabilizer to retain the chlorine made by the Saltron. Other than that, we were done for the summer except for periodic cleaning of debris in the pool. Everyone has loved the feel of the water (much softer and not as harsh as chlorine tablets). Doesn't dry your hair or skin out and doesn't burn your eyes.”

“Assembly was simple and it is extremely easy to use. It is very much more economical than the plumbed in systems. Since I have only had it for a month I have no sense of durability or reliability yet. August 8, 2013 Update 3 months later and the unit is working great! I cant believe how much easier this is than our previous fresh water configuration. I would highly recommend any fresh water pool users to consider conversion, and this unit makes it EXTREMELY easy. We have a 20,000 gallon (80,000 litre)pool and with 12 bags of salt and this unit, it has been crystal clear and algae free all summer with no additional salt or anything added. The instructions say to add cyanuric acid (stabilizer) but we have been too lazy to do this and it doesn't seem to have made any difference. The pH and chlorine have stayed balanced all summer with no fuss and zero maintenance. This is a HUGE difference from last year when we were adding chlorine pucks, algaecide and chlorine shock every few days. The water does feel nicer as well. No chlorine odour or residue and fewer chemicals to bathe ourselves in. Great unit! Even if we only get 2 seasons out of it, it has more than paid for itself in saved chemical costs.”

"Closed the pool down early this year since were leaving on vacation for a few weeks. Having said that, this item was my last attempt at doing a salt pool after having gone through two of the intex or whatever junk brand the other one carried on amazon is, blue and silver in color. I went through 2 of those in one season. This Solaxx ran the whole season of the pool having never failed, or needing cleaned. Very happy with the purchase, i will update in future if it fails or makes it through next season."

"My pool has never been this clean. This system is very easy to set up. I would recommend bolting it to a peice of wood so that it easier to remove in and out of the water vs bolting it in your concrete or deck. It has to be removed in the winter and also does not work in tempatures of less than 65 degrees. This occurs with all salt converters...not just this brand."

"This is AWESOME! We struggled with chemicals for 2 years with our above ground pool. We could never get it right and have clear water. We constantly shocked it, then it would be clear for a few hours and start turning cloudy and green pretty fast. After reading reviews on this Saltron, we decided to try it. WOW! We cleaned & filled the pool. plugged this in & added the salt and our pool has STAYED clear and beautiful! We haven't had to add or do ANYTHING! "We have a 10,000 gallon pool we wanted to convert to salt water to eliminate chemical use that has become very costly. We heard that salt water conversion was very expensive, so when my husband found the Solaxx system on Amazon for under 300 dollars he decided to try this. Normally, after the winter months in north Florida and having a pool in the woods, there is lots of time for dipping leaves continuously, even into the spring months, and so getting the water set up for swimming takes a regiment of chemicals and work. "I wanted to leave a review for this device. I bought one several years ago, 4 I think, and I am still using it in it's original state. I do clean it in the recommended manner with water and muratic acid each fall and then store it inside for the winter. I am totally impressed with this generator and when/if it goes I will buy another."

"Have had in pool for one month now. Easy to install in above ground pool. Had a little problem putting rail back on pool after installing the unit. Performance has been very good. Had to reduce to 13 hours from the preset from factory of 23 hours due to generating too much chlorine. Hopefully will last a long time."
